Prosecutors Won't Retry Student in Online Sex Case

A Columbia graduate student charged with sexual abuse and torture will not be tried a second time since the alleged victim has said she cannot go through another trial, prosecutors said. The student was convicted in April 1998 of kidnapping, sexually abusing and assaulting a student at Barnard College in New York after they met in an Internet chat room in 1996.
