Court Promises Quick Ruling on HP-Compaq Lawsuit

In a rare Sunday morning hearing, a Delaware judge said he planned to rule quickly on Walter Hewlett's bid for a trial to contest the shareholder vote on Hewlett-Packard's plan to acquire Compaq Computer. If Chancellor William Chandler, the senior judge of the Delaware Chancery Court, agrees to a trial, it will further delay HP's bid to proceed with the Compaq deal.
