FTC Chairman Reiterates Commitment to Enforcement

Dealing with online spammers and privacy invasions requires strong enforcement action from the Federal Trade Commission, but the agency's chief upheld his conviction that new legislation will not solve any problems. FTC Chairman Robert Muris said, however, that not even strong enforcement can possibly cure ills such as fraudulent and deceptive spam.
