HP Won't Renominate Packard for Board of Directors

Hewlett-Packard Co.'s board has decided against renominating dissident member Walter Hewlett, the co-founder's son who is leading the fight against HP's purchase of Compaq Computer Corp. The decision resulted from Hewlett's "ongoing adversarial relationship" and "concerns about his lack of candor and issues of trust," said Sam Ginn, chairman of the nominating committee.
