Judge Allows Trial for NYSE Message Board Suit

A federal judge ruled that the New York Stock Exchange must go to trial in its trademark infringement lawsuit against a man who posted offensive Internet messages under the name of NYSE Chairman Richard Grasso. U.S. District Judge Robert L. Carter in Manhattan denied the Big Board's request for summary judgment, ruling that defendant David Gahary's postings on investor message board RagingBull.com could be protected by the First Amendment.
