Napster Lays Off 30 Percent of Its Staff

Internet song-swapping service Napster, which has been hobbled by copyright litigation, said that it has laid off 30 people, or about 30 percent of its staff. The layoffs come as Bertelsmann, a major investor in Napster, continues to put on hold its talks to buy the rest of the once high-flying music service pending the resolution of a dispute between other Napster investors.
