E-mail Filtering Program Proving Popular in Fight to Stop Spam
SpamNet, a new e-mail filtering program using the same technology that allowed Napster users to swap music online, is helping its users banish unsolicited bulk e-mails from their inboxes -- and protect other people from the "spam" at the same time. Developed by closely held software start-up Cloudmark Inc. of San Francisco, SpamNet has attracted more than 250,000 users since it was released last June.
