New Group Forming to Oppose Movie Industry's Tech Proposals

Some technology companies and consumer organizations are planning to announce that they have formed a lobbying alliance to oppose technology regulations that are favored by the motion picture industry. The idea for the new organization, Alliance for Digital Progress, was born last year when Senator Ernest F. Hollings, the South Carolina Democrat, introduced a bill intended to prevent consumers from exchanging unauthorized copies of movies, music and television shows over the Internet.
