ICANN Approves VeriSign's Domain Wait-Listing Service

The Internet's main oversight body approved the creation of a controversial service to let people bid on domain names that are about to expire. The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) gave its blessing to VeriSign Inc.'s "wait-listing service" at its semiannual meeting in Rome.
